http://drugsense.org/fundraisers/2010/DS20Apr10.htm?sources=emailThe AMA (American Medical Assiociation) declared addiction a disease in the late fifty's. We have created a situation where everyone, including the government, is making money off a war that does not help the addicts or the problem. Is it time to just legalize this proble like many other countries and stop making the gun company's and the drug runners rich?
| | | A Warning | | Below is a short article I found written by a judge that sums up quite well what I'd like you to know about the peril our freedom and rights are in due to the "tech" administration:Beware of the Tech Savvy White House
Andrew Napolitano

Don't believe the government's excuses. This White House is pushing programs and bills down our throats and it knows exactly how to use the Internet as a means to its ends. This White House is the most technically savvy administration in history. It wants to "own your computer" when you sign up for the "Cash for Clunkers" program; it wants to monitor your browsing habits with "cookies;" and it wants you to report your neighbor if you notice anything "fishy." Now, it wants us to believe that the most recent Internet-related story involving third party healthcare e-mails is another mistake. Don't believe the government's excuses. This White House is pushing programs and bills down our throats and it knows exactly how to use the Internet as a means to its ends. But Americans, like the viewer that provided my FOX News colleague Glenn Beck with the "Cash for Clunkers"/"own your computer" story and some journalists,...

I have put in words and changed other so this is not a direct copy of the email I got it from . and in no way take credit for any of this just thought it would be very informational to the peopleFor those who don't know... Capt. Denny Keastflies for UAL and flew many SAM's (Special Air Mission's) for the White House.********************************************************I flew 4 Presidential support missions in theC-141 out of Dover AFB, DE.. Two for President Johnson and two for President Nixon.Johnson was a first class jerk and on the two
occasions I flew for him, if the Secret Service and
their Liaison in the Pentagon hadn't got thier way, we
would have had to stay on the airplane for hours
while he (Johnson) was off somewhere. Nixon never
required that and the four (4) stops we made with
him he was cordial to the Secret Service and to me
and my crew.We had a neighbor when I lived in DC who was
part of the secret service presidential detail for
many years. His stories of Kennedy and Johnson were
the same as those... | |
| | Presidential Encounters | | I just finished telling you guys about a special meeting with someone I admire and it made me think about two other special encounters several years ago. Both of which include two of our nation's presidents. The first I'll tell you about took place in New York City at the famed 21 Club. My father and sister and brother and I had just attended a Broadway play and entered 21 Club to have a late dinner when we ran into a family friend by the name of Congressman Joe Waggoner (sp?). He is a friend of my Dad's and he told us that he was there having dinner with President Nixon and asked if we'd like to meet him. Like we were really going to say no to that.Anyway, Mr. Waggoner went back into the restaurant where they'd been dining and brought Mr. Nixon out to see us. He was very warm and friendly and quite gracious and I thoroughly enjoyed meeting with him for the few minutes we did.My father had met him on several occassions because my parents used to attend Mardi Gras at the White House during the late 60's and early 70's. I have another story to tell about that but it will have to wait until another posting.Anyway, the other presidential encounter happened in Purgatory,... | |
| | i can offer you something better than a best response! | | Apart from the friends that reply to me,I have no friends that reply to me. This upsets me. So i have arranged for the first 50 people that respond to this discussion to get a Pulitzer prize for outstanding literature to be presented by President Nixon. Now that's a better bribe than a best response! | |
| | Man Chooses Girlfriend over Elvis | | Hundreds of pieces of Elvis Presley memorabilla were auctioned off by a longtime collector trying to win back his girlfriend after she warned:"You leave the Elvis clothes or I'll leave you." the items auctioned included three Elvis concert suits, two of which sold for $125,000 and $50,000, said Alan Lipkin, senior vice president of Regency-Superior, which organized the online auction. Also sold were necklaces Elvis gave to girlfriends and friends, cufflinks he recieved from President Nixon and belt buckles he wore, Lipkin said. The seller, Jim Curtin, collected 300 cartons of Elvis memorabilia for more than 30 years and met the star several times. His unrelenting adoration eventually got the attention of Elvis, who personally presented Curtin with a white jumpsuit he wore in a Houston concert in 1974, according to the Regency web site. So why give up the lifetime collection? "He's doing this to try to win back his girlfriend," said Lipkin. | |
| | New Government Regulation would limit your profits | | The government, The Commodity Futures Trading Commission, wants to limit how much money you can make in the Commodity Futures Market. Because some people make big money in the buying and selling of futures in Gasoline and Oil last year they are being blamed for the increase in the price of oil and gasoline. What the regulators want to do is to limit the amount of futures contracts that a person or group could buy. I guess the thinking is that if you can not buy a large futures contract or multiple contracts the price will stay low. Who are these "speculators" who are forcing up the prices on us to make a profit (now considered a dirty word and may soon be banned on some websites as obscene). Last year the price of Oil and Gasoline was going up daily and people were worried and the news caster were blaming the "Evil Speculators", but who were those Speculators. Some were people who were willing to take a risk and hope to profit from the increase in price. There were others who were trying to secure a set price so they could control costs. I received a notice from my utility company that I could lock in the price of my heating if I signed up by October 1 and agree to a fixed,... | |
